Castlewick Light Episodes

Recording Castlewick Light

Castlewick Light is a monthly “radio soap” produced by the St. John’s Players. Episode One was launched in March 1991, initially for the Sutton Talking Newspaper and the Kent Magazine for the Blind. As episode 200 approaches Castlewick Light reaches an audience of around 20,000 through talking newspapers and a number of hospital radio stations.

Castlewick Light is a pub in Castlewick, a seaside village somewhere in Southern England. David Boyd, the Chairman of St. John’s describes it as “a bit like “East Enders” meets “The Archers”.

There are 30 characters that take part in the recordings based on original scripts produced by St John’s scriptwriters.
